A handmade book printed letterpress on Shadowmould paper from all handset Centaur, Arrighi and Mistral types. With 21 letterpressed illustrations, 9 of which are large tipped-in plates.
Edition is limited to 60 copies, numbered and signed by Carol Cunningham and Gene Holtan, an award-winning book illustrator. Bound at Taurus Bookbindery by John Demerritt, in textured white cloth with green satin spine, putti illustration in black impressed on front cover, and title impressed in black on spine.
A whimsical book about the nine Greek Muses, patronesses of the arts, enlivened by Gene’s drawings of muses and putti. The final page has a little drawing (not in the miniature edition) that Gene did of himself on a letter to Carol, which she subsequently included in the book. This is the large format edition that preceded the miniature version of this title printed by Sunflower Press in 1998. Entertaining and informative too—Greek mythology has never been this fun! This book will be of special interest to anyone in the creative arts and appreciators of Greek culture.
