A delightful story about a girl waiting for the end of winter. Her grandfather teaches her how to watch for the signs that spring is on the way. "The book paints a strong relationship between the protagonist and her grandfather, bound together by their love of nature as well as for one another. -Judith Constantinides."
This heartfelt story by Carolyn Arden is beautifully illustrated by Jim Postier. Carolyn has worked as an editor for Outside magazine, as publications director for the Chicago Academy of Sciences, and has contributed articles to Audubon, BBC Wildlife, Omni, and Sierra. Jim is a medical illustrator at the renowed Mayo Clinic. This is Carolyn's first book and Jim's first illustration of a children's book.
This copy has been specially signed by both the author and the artist, and there is an extra illustration drawn on the title page of a goose flying in front of the moon (see photograph).
